DVR stored content not playable with "orphaned" VRAD
This evening I have one of those scenarios with a total loss of U-Verse service (IPTV, VoIP, broadband). While I have synch to the VRAD, I am fairly certain** that the fiber to my VRAD has been cut by a contractor.*
Why is the stored content on my DVR offline? Is there some form of authentication request that has to travel beyond the VRAD before DVR content can be played?
* A conduit contractor has been boring along several miles where my AT&T fiber is routed.
** 20:07 I just drove by a fiber splice trailer and lots of AT&T techs.

the dvr doesnt work unless it is connected to the network which must have an internet connection, so if the fiber feeding the vrad has been cut then all services will be down until it has been restored
