 | [Help Me] D-Link DGL-4300 Xbox Live Halo 4 NAT multiple xboxes Forwarding | Special Applications |
Hello,
I am trying to get my router to work with multiple xboxes. We both play Halo 4 and want Open NATs. We did port forwarding for one of the xboxes and it opens the NAT for that one, but the 2nd xbox has a moderate NAT.

We tried the special applications page to open the ports for all connections? But that resulted in both of us having moderate NATs.

Any suggestions on how to get this to work with this router? It is a D-Link DGL-4300. Maybe we are doing the special applications page wrong?

#2 Turn on UPnP in the router. |

I had followed the guide you posted and it still does not seem to work. Attached are the screenshots of my settings. I tried the broad range for destination ip range, didn't work, so I switched it to the xbox live ips. (screenshot 1)
Then when I am selecting the protocols, it does not have the option for "Both", as shown. (screenshot 2)
And when applying some of the settings in the guide, I got the error about overlapping. (screenshot 3) |

| reply to Davey You almost have it. Except that you only need to use 1 rule for multiple xboxes: Name: XBL Priority: 1 try 50 as well. Source IP Range: 192.168.0.121 To 192.168.0.127 (This range includes all of the xboxes you've connected and reserved the IP addresses for.) Designation IP Range: Setting is good here. Protocol Port: Set to BOTH and use 0 To 65525 on Both Local and Remote port numbers. (Port 53, 80 and 88 are not needing to be set up since the consoles can access these ports as needed and these ports or not high priority. Only 3074 is and having multiple consoles, uPnP will connect each one to the appropriate port for use, why 0 thru 65535 is used. This allows uPnP to get any available open port to connection to.)
Remove all the other rules.
Ensure uPnP is enabled under Advanced/Adv Networking. Remove any rules you set up under Applications as well as thats not needed anymore. |
|
 | For the protocol port, I am not able to do BOTH (see screenshot 2). Should I create a rule for each (TCP/UDP)? I originally had the ports set 0 to 65525, but that did not work so that is why I tried the specific ports. |
|
 | reply to Davey Try ANY, this might change the Remote IP addresses to 0.0.0.0 To 255.255.255.255 which is ok too. |
|
 | When I do ANY it says that ports are not allowed. So I am not able to enter the ports in. |
|
 | reply to Davey Then don't enter any ports, it should use (ANY) ports the router can find by using uPnP automatically. |
|
 | I think that might have worked. It was showing both Xboxes as OPEN NAT. One time it didn't, so I restarted the Xbox and then it was OPEN.
I will keep you updated if anything changes.
THANK YOU!!! |

 | reply to Davey Hope it works well for you. |
