TSI MarcPremium,VIP join:2006-06-23 Chatham, ON kudos:14 | Status of things Hey all,
Not much to report but thought I'd talk about what we're working on.
We decided to focus on pricing for Cogeco, Vidéotron, Shaw and Telus. Those are somewhat more simple since they generally affect less of our existing users. I don't have any ETA to report but essentially, with the exception of Telus, the rates with those are essentially in a similar boat as was Bell for the last year... The rates are way high. My keen sense of BS tells me that those rates are just wrong. It just doesn't make any sense. It's a real shame. Anyway, we're looking at doing everything we can to give everybody as many options as possible. I know many dont have access to higher speeds in more remote areas on the DSL side so that's really my primary concern there.
On the Rogers side, we continue to press for a timeline to migrate to aggregated as soon as we can. Still no news to report unfortunately. In general, we are trying to migrate everybody quickly since I know many are keen to get the higher speeds. For rates, whatever changes that may happen, would only happen after we migrate everybody. Once we get done with everything else, we'll look at it all more closely.
On the Bell residential end of things, we're working on a number of cool things there. They are a bit more involved so will likely take a bit longer to roll out but it will be worth the wait.
I'll keep everybody posted as we keep working through everything. -- Marc - CEO/TekSavvy |

 | reply to zacron said by zacron:Can we push back at the CRTC? The new tariffs are already the result of pushing back to make the CRTC revisit some potential errors in their costing, which the CRTC ended up deciding in the incumbents' favor in most cases. Making the CRTC re-review those rates would be difficult. |

| reply to TSI Marc Hi Marc, Any feelings on Bell Business DSL side? Currently on 25/7 @ $109. Am I right that the business side may drop as a result of these changes since Bell can't charge you more for it? Will Business likely be continue to be unlimited? We do a lot of traffic (like 50-100GB a night synchronizing our SAN's between offices), but it's all between midnight and 6am. Might be able to convince the boss do to MLPPP with dual 25/7's
Oh, and likelyhood of those 25/7's becoming 25/10 to match residential soon? |
