Erratic and low downstream bandwidth this morning

I'm currently on the 50/3 package in Greenville, NC. Went to bed last night and everything was working perfect. However, all morning I've had nothing but erratic download speeds that are nowhere near what I normally get. My upstream has been perfect during this entire duration.

All of my signal levels appear to be the same as always. Evidently at some point last night my modem received a firmware update.
Previous Firmware:
Model Name: SB6120
Vendor Name: Motorola
Firmware Name: SB6120-1.0.1.8-SCM02-NOSH
Boot Version: PSPU-Boot 1.0.0.4m1
Hardware Version: 3.0
Firmware Build Time: Apr 22 2009 12:15:22

Current Firmware:
Model Name: SB6120
Vendor Name: Motorola
Firmware Name: SB_KOMODO-1.0.6.8-SCM01-NOSH
Boot Version: PSPU-Boot 1.0.0.4m1
Hardware Version: 3.0
Firmware Build Time: Aug 30 2012 15:35:46

Also noticed a SL truck in my neighborhood yesterday evening/night.

By the way, how do you check on your modem to see what version and software it has?

I'm in Kinston on the 15/1.5 plan and have been having similar issues since late last night. Currently hovering in the 1.5 Mbps range, though it sometimes approaches dialup speeds.

On the Moto SB6120 the firmware information is under the "Help" option.

Just rolling out of bed here in Greenville, and I see the slowdown issues as well. Pretty major. 50/3 plan here.

Speeds seem to be normal on the internal speed test I use @ »66.76.168.20:8080/myspeed/myhispeed_64s.html

So it must be some kinda interconnection issue with whoever SL connects to the rest of the net with.

I'm not seeing anything offhand. Traffic patterns to NC show normal.

Most of you are using the DC (Beta) server. I see El Loco used two others that showed 30mb but the DC one showed 13m.

Has anyone tested real file transfers to see if those are showing the same results? Also, have ya'll ran any Pingplotter traces to look for packet-loss?

I tried some ftp transfers, and they were really slow. Not seen any packet loss at all. Will keep poking around on this end.

We have a dirty circuit. I took it out of routing until we can get it worked out.

Several off color jokes come to mind. Keep up the good work.
