1 edit | secondary "N" router: any benefit? I have the Verizon FiOS 15/5 plan. I was thinking of getting a wireless N router (set up as detailed here: »Verizon Online FiOS FAQ »Can I use my wireless or an extra router along with the Verizon provided router?), but as I read here, I wonder if that will help me (because there will be no speed increase, given my plan). I transfer files from the TiVo to my PC, and perhaps it might make that faster? Or I wonder if there's a software cap for that.
Anyway, any information or advice would be appreciated.
Thanks. |

Otherwise no you really don't have a need for a new router that I can see. |

 | If I run the speedtest, I get pretty much what I'm supposed to (15/5), so internet downloads will go no faster. But wireless N would increase INTRAnetwork transfers, right? |

 | reply to cyraxote yes - local to local on n will be faster |

 | reply to cyraxote If your TiVo only supports Wireless-G, upgrading to N won't make a difference. |
