Windstream Direct Misconceptions

There have been some misconceptions regarding »Windstream Direct. Multiple members of this forum have raised the issue that they can not read all the posts written by other members in »Windstream Direct. In »Windstream Direct only the member that created the forum, Windstream Employees, and our awesome Mods have access to those threads. The reason for that is simple. Those threads are there to troubleshoot 1 customers issue with their account or service. For Windstream employees to be able to correctly find the account personal information needs to be provided, that information does not need to be seen my anyone else. In some cases (based on the employees discretion) other personal information like Social Security Numbers will be posted to verify the members identity and ability to file complaints. The reason we ask for information like that is to maintain our customer privacy and the security of their information. We ask for this information in »Windstream Direct to prevent certain unwanted situations such as a DSLR Members/Windstream Customers to have their identity compromised or stolen.

If we allow everyone access to every thread in »Windstream Direct a significant amount of negative outcomes become possible. Outcomes that we can, and do avoid by limiting access to the threads in the direct forum.

Just to be clear: No network/repair/upgrade information is being hidden from the public! We are hiding our customer telephone numbers, social security numbers, and address. If you want to know what is in the threads send a PM to the creator of the thread. If that member want to share the information that is the Member's/Customer's prerogative. Windstream Employees will not any respond to an inquiries of that nature.

Just to be clear: The Mods for DSL will not allow random access to any of the thread in »Windstream Direct unless you created the thread. Windstream technicians and Management will not make any exceptions either.

Seems a good candidate for mods to sticky on the forum.

People have to understand this would be like... while you are on hold if you called WS Tech Support, they played live audio from other customers calls.

This website has been doing ISP Direct forums for many years, and this is the format for exactly 100% of them. ATT, Comcast, Time Warner, Verizon, and many others... same format.
