DSL Extreme as an escape from Verizon's DSL price increases?
A few days ago, Verizon sent out notices to many if not all of its DSL customers informing us of a $5/month price increase (see »Price increase ). I'm wondering if this same increase is expected to be passed on to DSL Extreme customers, or if it might make sense for an existing Verizon dry loop customer such as myself to switch over in the hope of having a lower price even after the 1-year promotional period.

After the first year, the price does go up in most areas, usually by $5/mo, assuming you're going with the annual renewal rate. That price difference applies regardless of whether you're using DSL with voice or dry loop DSL (we don't charge more for dry loop).
