Recommend a router

Hey, I just got Rogers hooked up today and yes I have the Hitron CGN2. The signal strength is varying as well as my speeds. Can someone recommend a router that will work well and not kill the wallet? I noticed some of these routers have a USB port so I can plug in an external. How well does that work for sharing music and movies?

Thanks

I've had the Asus RT-N66U for a few months. It's a tad expensive but it's rock solid and has great coverage.

Also have a Asus RT-N66U. It is a wonderful router, never have to reset it.

Can it be bridged with the Hitron router ?

Assuming the Hitron can be placed in bridge mode like the 3825, you can use any router with it.

Hitron can be bridged by logging into cusadmin (access info on bottom of the bottom), then turning off wireless, then turning off the commercial gateway functions. Gateway will reboot in modem/bridge mode and works fine after that.
