We're had 8 here in Van Nuys for a few months now (had 7 for a while, but they finally provided the 8th).

8 channels in Venice 90291 now too.

The upstream channel appears to have halved in rate too, from 5120 to 2560ksym/sec.

Do these not show up on older cable modems like Ambit/Ubee U10C018?

As that modem is a D2 modem that does not support Channel bonding, you are correct that it would not show up.

Ah, it requires a DOCSIS3 modem. Got it. What do these channel bondings do? Faster speed? The old one seems to do fine (99% uptime and stable).

Bigger bandwidth pipe for more speed if you pay for it. Otherwise it should just allow for more consistent speeds

I think that you are having signal issues preventing you having 8 channels. You should have 1-8 as the downstream channel id instead of 1,2,3,4,5,7 which means you are having horrible errors on channels 6 and 8 on the downstream which is causing the modem to not lock on and it evident from your Correctables being high on Channel IDs 4 and 5.

Uncorrectables/correctables statistics are useless without the total codewords, or at least the modem's uptime. Your modem is receiving thousands of codewords per second. A small number of errors (as you've shown) is nothing to worry about.

WiFiguru,

Are you north of Baseline and east of Indian Hill? You know if the bonding availability all the way to the Upland border? Did this occur in the last week?

That's probably still not enough to noticeably impact performance. However, if I collected that much in 24 hours, I might run around and check for loose connections, as it's higher than average.

See this thread
»[AZ] Total Uncorrectable Codewords INCREASING

Note how high the unerrored codewords are on a modem that reports it. 5219 errored codwords is probably some small fraction of .01% of data that's passed by your modem. The corrected codewords don't impact your performance, because that data was corrected.

It's unfortunate that modem manufacturers don't always report the unerrored codewords, or at least express it as a percentage. It's really needed for perspective to interpret that value.

Back to topic, I'm still at 4x1 in Valencia.

Hello just to update I still have 8 downstream bonding but no upstream bonding but twc is doing a lot of work on all of the nodes in my city and all the other equipment. I think they are trying to compete with fios which just started being installed on the north side of my city's main boulevard where I live the south side has has fios since 2006 when they started rolling out. My moms uncle who is passing due to cancer has fios and it has 2ms ping and good standard def tv bud the HD is not as good as directv which Is what I have since fios uses mpeg2 I believe and directv uses mpeg2 for sd but mpeg4 for hd.

No, Claremont Village.

Yes, just over a week ago.

Not sure what the bonding looks like in Upland, but a buddy of mine has 8 channels at Monte Vista Ave / Foothill

Wifi,
When the bonding occurred, did your modem shut off on its own? How does the customer know for example in your house, how and when the bonding and streaming changed?
Anybody else who has had this upgrade should have had the same experience.
Thanks.

Did your modem trigger off and boosted to the 8 after you checked?
