Email question

I made an email with start.ca
I was under the impression that after I connected/associated it with windows life mail that I would get it on my computer at home as well as being able to check my email on the start website while I was at work or on the road.
Ever since I associated it with live mail I have received nothing on the start site.
Did I do something wrong or is it just not possible.
Also will it ever be possible to make new emails online without having to phone in to support to have them set it up?

You likely set it up as POP3 on your computer and it downloads all the mail from the server leaving nothing there for you to check.

or perhaps live mail isn't what I should be using?
I checked and I have leave a copy of email on server but it is not doing that

That's the correct thing to do, is it possible you have multiple devices set to access the mailbox and one of them doesn't have the 'leave mail on the server' setting? Also it's best to set one of them to cleanup after x days, otherwise mail builds indefinitely on the server making checking mail slower and slower over time.
