Link consultation?

Over Sea/Water

I am seriously thinking on deploying a link to provide Internet access to a community that has a poor quality of internet service.

I need your advice on what type of equipment and frequency can make this possible - taking into account the link profile attached in this post.

Thanks.

Edit: I forgot to mention that this link would be practically over sea/water.

Edit: On the last pic, I believe I would have some sort of obstruction.

Ubiquiti Rocket 5's. Forget about 2.4 at that distance.

5.8Ghz / 100mW TX power
28dBi or better solid dish antennas
preferably circular polarization feeds

Theoretically on 5 470 a 5 825 MHz is 27 dBm. Real life is quite different. In my case EIRP in that region is no problem

Unex has excellent quality industrial temp 5.8Ghz card with low EVM (clean) TX output at 100mW. You could use that with a reliable Mikrotik board.

Use a roomy outdoor enclosure suitable for tropical climate to put everything inside. Add good quality surge protection for Ethernet/PoE and bond antenna/RF ground to Ethernet ground and metal enclosure body.

UBNT Rocket M5s, with the dome antennas (Bigger the better).

What sort of structures are you attaching to? Those things are monsters.

Fresnel zone worries me in 2.4 on that shot. 5.8 should help things a little bit in that department.

This type of tower I was thinking at the Tx side (not yet installed)

Rx side no problem - telco tower type already in place.

Guys,

Thanks for your advices and help. There is a high probability that I will deploy this link and it would be on the suggested frequency - 5.8 GHz. Just need to re-visit those places and talk to the community again - Will post results if project takes place.

Cheers all
