Just got a constant guard notification from Comcast about a bot on my computer. My computers are Macs and are not prone to Malware.

That myth is false and has been false for awhile.

10 years ago Macs weren't prone to it... Now they are, just not as much as Windows machines. Scan your systems.

I've gotten that 2 or 3 times here & there. I did an exhausting thorough check on all my PCs & found absolutely nothing. I don't pay any attention to it now.

try this »amibotted.comcast.net/all-clear.html
If it shows a problem, and you are SURE (actually scanned with multiple products, not just assume Mac's are immune ) that you are clean, it means ComCast has detected a bot like pattern (either excessive bursts of mass emails steady trickles of packets to and from known bad addresses)
You will need to figure out what and how to stop it.

BTW Mac's are not and never have been immune (particularly since going toward more main stream *nix type O/Ss and now have enough market share/horsepower to be worth writing exploits for (like in high school, being popular can be a path new and unpleasant diseases ) time to use protection

Just as a precaution, I installed the free norton Internet security from Comcast on all of my newer Macs.

As others said, this is simply not true any longer. Now that Apple has a large market share, this is a big target audience (so to speak) for malware authors. So it is an issue on Mac OS X as well as Windows.

Some examples from the past few months:
