| Are there really statistics to back up the Manhattan DA's claim that almost every NYC crime has a cyber element? And that it isn't just Manhattan, but throughout the country?
And did you see this statement: "The city is getting help from the Secret Service, Department of Homeland Security, local businesses, and others. This system of cooperation was actually set up in 2001 when President George W. Bush signed the PATRIOT Act into law."
So was this a conference to demonstrate why they'll soon be using new surveillance techniques? I wonder... |

Because the damn organised crime is using computers to keep track (only aggregated victims information) for reporting and teritory share purposes

I think it would be more accurate to state that more organized crime is involving computers because they can get more money off computer crimes.
druggies will still knock off 7-11s, a Meth head is not going to setup a complex computer crime to make money to buy their next high when they can walk into a shop with a 9mm and make them empty the drawer.

Crime can easily be remedied in NYC. It should be obvious to all. Merely spill one of those illegal 16 ounce soft drinks on the computer system and voila!  |

Doubt it. They're too busy banning things that affect more people, like salt, soft drinks, living space, etc.
