[DSL] gas to 25/10 dsl

I need upload for work and I don't want to wait until April for cable (plus 4Mbps upload might not be enough).

I am looking at the 25/10 package but Bell is only $8 more for 100GB LESS usage.
TekSavvy:
300 GB usage
$53
$9 for dry loop
$8 for modem rental (does this mean it has a warranty forever?)
--
$70/month

$95 install
$20 install for dry loop

Bell:
100 GB usage
$58/month
$20 for extra 100GB of usage
--
$78/month

$50 install

The benefit of Bell is there is no middleman for repairs.
Unlimited is in Bell's favour but I don't trust them not to end the promotion and I only want 200 GB.

TekSavvy seems better except for the high initial cost.

What am I not seeing?

Teksavvy hasn't announced new pricing yet so.. maybe wait for that before you make your decision?

Velcom and Acanac has 25/10 for around $45.

Velcom is very interesting, no dry loop and much lower install fee than TekSavvy.
Acanac is a "not even if h*ll freezes over".

Does velcom limit during peak hours like Acanac? I can't find Acanac 25 or 50 mbps service. It's not listed on their DSL page for me. Looks Velcom is selling the VDSL modem for 130$ which is pretty reasonable !

You may also want to look at Acanac reviews / issues before switching

You may also want to look at Electronicbox »www.electronicbox.net/en ··· net.html . They're a quebec ISP but have recently started selling 25/10 in ontario. Cost is $45.95 and no dry loop fee. You still need to rent the modem, but they said they are working on selling the modem. Install is $50.

Yes but teksavvy costs $7/month more and charges dry loop fees which is probably about $10/month. I'd wait for the new pricing to come out (soon?) but my guess is teksavvy still won't be cheaper.

Electronic Box has 25/10 200GB for $63 (taxes included) in Ontario. That includes a modem rental, but they too are working on selling the modems which would chop $10 plus tax off that total, so you'd be looking at closer to $50/month. They also have unlimited from 2 am - 12 pm.

I'm waiting for any changes in prices before signing up for a second account with them.

Velcom and Acanac both have issues that make me weary of them. Velcom has poor reviews here and Acanac's rate limiting is an issue for me.

Electronic Box has great tech support (even if hours are not 24/7) although I've had to wait on the line for an hour on occasion for support. Once the line was set up and working though, I haven't had to call at all.
