The Eneloop kit is on. On that note, Panasonic purchased Sanyo's battery business. I saw on Friday that Future shop has the Panasonic branded version of these in an 8 AA pack for $35.

I bought two ST2220Ls last week for roughly $119 each. They cost me a bit more than the other cheap 22s I've seen, but Dell's panel warranty and return policy blows anyone else out of the water.

If I see them for $99, I'll be mildly upset.

Did the quality of the Sanyo batteries drop after Panasonic purchased them?

That is the question that does not seem to have an answer.

I haven't seen them for less than $299.

Bought my wife the 14 inch 2420 a while back when it was on for $299. Nice little machine for the price.

You are correct, 15 inch was not for that price...
That was 2420 in Jan Sale for $279/- and with Windows 7 it was 329/-.

The U3011 price is the weakest I've seen it yet. Not only did Dell raise the normal price from $1399 to $1407, but $150 off is a far cry from the $450 discounts I've seen in the past.

Weak!

Dell is doing what Zellers and their "closing deals' jack the price up and pretend to give a discount to attract the ones that don't pay attention.

No, I didn't. Honest... I ran out of gas. I... I had a flat tire. I didn't have enough money for cab fare. My tux didn't come back from the cleaners. An old friend came in from out of town. Someone stole my car. There was an earthquake.......

Canadian Tire does the same thing ALOT. Put a ridiculous retail on something then a sale tag which is regular retail at many other stores.

Example: Ninja sear slow cooker was tagged at 129.00 on sale for 89.00. Deal? what deal. Regular price at walmart is 89.00.

I'm shopping there less and less lately cause it peeves me off

I'm almost positive that the 2520 w/Ubuntu was $279 last time. That figure sticks in my mind because I had concluded that it was a pretty good deal and was kicking myself a little for passing it by. It's pretty tempting even at $299 since I could throw Win 7 Professional on it using one of the spare licenses I'm still holding and end up with a pretty sweet deal.

It could have been $279, but I only ever recall seeing them for $299.

Has anyone seen if they have a Windows 7 option this time around?

The 2520 was definitely on for $279 last time around as I picked one up for that price. I threw Windows 8 and XBMC on it and it works very well as a HTPC (with the built in HDMI port).

I agree, not much today. The Inspiron 15R for $430 is more or less a standard on these sales now -- nice machine, not particularly a hot deal, though.

The Kingston 32GB USB stick for $25 is OK. I bought a couple of the 16GB ones a while back for about half that. The surprising issue with the large USB sticks is you start to realize how painfully slow they are when writing really large amounts of data. With the small ones in the old days, you just never noticed.

I'd like to see a Core i3 in a Netbook sized machine some day. I find 14" machines to be too big for travel purposes. The 2420 from last January was definitely a contender, especially since they offered the Pro version of Windows 7 in the upgrade, and not the Home version.

You mean like my 11.6" Core i3-powered Acer TimelineX?

Acer's 11.6" line has been discontinued, but Lenovo and Asus both have some newer 11" stuff out there.

Just did some re-search. lol Google.
It was that price on Black Friday or Cyber Monday. With coupon code it was less $25-$50

I paid $289 for a refurb from Cheetah Deals in the US. Windows 7 Home Premium COA, but even with an upgrade you're still under $400. So the answer is yes.

Broke down today and grabbed the Dlink DIR-506L.

I've found myself in more places with crappy wireless internet where there is a great hardwired option than I care to count.

Big test will be next month when I have to go a facility where the guest rooms have spotty wireless but great wired access.
