[Express] Going to cancel, what's Rogers going to offer me?

I plan to call Rogers to cancel my Express internet. What can I expect them to offer me in order to keep me as a customer?

Currently at 12/0.5, 60GB/month, own my modem.
Looking for 25/2, 300GB/month, free modem rental.

Thanks!

i was on the express old plan like it seems you were. an older d2 modem and twice I have called in to ask what can be done to get me to even the advertised 80gb/month.. they always said - you need to buy a new modem or start paying a monthly modem fee which is buried in my old 20/512k 60gb plan.
today i called in one last time - all of a sudden they CAN upgrade my express service to 25Mb/2Mb and 80GB. I asked about the new unlimited. seems they can also now do that with my older modem.
...so..for extra $10 i get unlimited using MY OLD D2 Modem - which they said 2wice before was impossible and I keep my bundle discount supposedly. will be watching...

Sadly, not going to happen. 25/2 is D3 territory only. You've been lied to my friend..............You can only go up to 18/1 on D2 and Rogers won't even do that.

Thats what I thought elite, but speedtest says otherwise (shows 25/2 on speedtest.net and rogers own speedcheck. Also, online 'my account' now indicates 'High Speed Express Unlimited' with a huge GB limit - guess they need a number in there to fake the system to unlimited. Believe me, i have dealt with them lots of times, so i have agent name, date, time, length of call. Its all marked down here so if billing is now screwed up I will be back to them. I only wrote this today since they said it was impossible before.

Well, Congratulations! Never thought I'd live to see the day. I guess Hell has truly frozen over............Unbelievable.

Does that speedtest ignore SpeedBoost? If so that explains why the result is 25Mbps and not 18Mbps.

Not the only thing.. Somebody might notice when they do their next database audit a few months from now. It seems unlikely you'll run into problems, but they do go back and check for consistency once in a while.

Anyway, thanks for posting, certainly very interesting.

I'm getting this, for around $32 a month, taxes in.
From the Rogers speedcheck, i'm actually getting a little more, both down and up.

I was getting just a hair better download, with only around 2 Mb/s upload, however with only 120GB cap. Now I get these results, with 500GB cap, for the same price

The lucky guy lives in New Brunswick. Rogers bends over backwards to keep customers out there.

This is true. I have home phone, digital cable and internet with Rogers, and for all of my services, I get a 50% discount on each. And because this is not tied to a bundle, but rather just a discount on a specific service, I can upgrade or downgrade to whichever new deal comes around, and I still get to keep my 50%.

I've had that on my account for almost 4 years now. Every year when they are about to expire, I call them up, renew a 1 year contract, and I get to keep my discount.

I tape every call with Rogers - I know it sounds paranoid, but when even confirmation numbers didn't guarantee that the c/s agent was honest about transactions, I looked into the legality of recording (it is legal) and have been doing it now for several months...and have caught them in inconsistencies and frankly lies. I am now extracting myself from each service...

I record EVERY call with ANY company providing me a service in exchange for money - without exception.

The reaction when catching someone pulling shenanigans: priceless.
