Re: [DSL] NEW RATES - Telus

said by TSI Marc:

I was thinking how those rates are old school TekSavvy kinda rates eh!?

I like these rates too.

Wow...yep, agreed.

Now I'm hoping for similar plans for Ontario agg (Rogers cable) but I doubt it's gonna be possible given the cable vs DSL fee's you guys now pay

Hi Mark, I am looking to switch to TekSavvy. I have been with Telus for many years both Internet and Homephone and they no longer value this I guess.
Anyway, I am looking to dump both and go with TekSavvy.
25 mbps DSL
300 Gigs - $44.99

After the CRTC (BAD) decision, does this mean I still need to also get the dryloop option?
So in total I would be paying:
300 Gigs - $44.99 (25 mbps)
+ $11.39 / month Dryloop
= $56.38 + taxes?
If yes then it seems I should look at your Cable option, which is also available in my area.

Thanks, and it refreshing to see such feedback and concern coming from a CEO of the company to his customers.
Cheers!

Nothing is set for prices just yet... All that is currently provided is the plan themselves. As for dryloop etc, it's still up in the air.

But your price calculations seem like they fit.
You could always keep the land line with Telus & not have to pay for dryloop.

I'd suggest you wait until we release official prices. This way you'll be better in tune to take your decision.

For Telus land.. Dry Loops stay the same.. for Bell; I'll have something on that front later this week.

This doesn't look too bad, good work Marc.

How do I find out what band I am in?

Since Telus is offering the higher 50M speed tier (and maybe going to offer higher?) , I'm wondering about modem compatibility for the future.

Any thoughts on this?
