 | "Solar Phenomenon" causing video problems So I've been having on and off video issues for a few days. Randomly, certain channels will go off and I get the "signal loss" message on my screen. I finally called WoW today and was told that my area (SE MI) is getting hit with random solar phenomena and this is causing the problem. The tech reset everything remotely and all is fine. Has anyone else heard of this? I don't see how a solar issue could cause signal loss from the media serve in my house. Not sure I believe this explanation. |

| Re: "Solar Phenomenon" causing video problems The solar issue is not likely effecting your media server. It is most likely effecting the satellites that gets channels to the headend wich delivers them over the cable that runs to your house. »en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cable_tele···_headend |

WFE join:2013-01-03 Sterling Heights, MI | reply to pargoff Sun outages occur spring and fall. It occurs when the sun, satellite and satellite dish line up. The outage will usually last no longer than 15 minutes at its peak time. This will last about 7 days with the longest outage in the middle of that time. It will be at different times for different channels depending on what satellite a channel is being received from. These sun outages are going on now. Often a satellite receiver will say "no signal" when this happens. In the old analog days the picture would get snowy to unwatchable and then get better, now with digital it goes of the digital cliff and just stops working for a few minutes. |

 | reply to pargoff We have been seeing glitches on AMC, History and the "no signal" also. Hopefully this is just the "phenomenon" also. |
