Hi Marc

Will static addresses be available with Shaw like DSL with Telus? If so could we carry over the IP's from the DSL side or are the separated?

Thanks

Randal

Wow, is my vision going or is there really a 1Mbps plan? O_o. Guess one could use it as emergency backup or something.

The 25Mbps looks really attractive. And the 50Mbps unlimited is quite reasonable. Makes me want to go out west for work haha.

yup. I recommend Shaw for those speeds

It's more of a statement that we're even offering those speeds at all.

Yeah I understand. It's important that the CRTC SEES and understands what they have done here.

25Mbits seems like the sweet spot performance VS price... and cheaper than Telus

50Mbit and 100Mbit are ridiculous, thanks CRTC!

Should be good to set my girlfriend up in Calgary when you open it up

sweet.

I should probably add though that Shaw has shown signs that they may remove the 25 meg speed.. (I'm assuming they would grandfather it, but I dont know that for sure)

And the 10 meg speed was not one of the speeds that were included in the latest CRTC decision. i.e. they still need to go through the sausage CRTC factory or similar rate process..

there's actually a 20 meg speed that costs too much.. so I didn't even both pricing it.. (it was higher priced than the 25 meg speed.. but it too wasn't made final)

so.. I priced all the latest stuff.. plus the 10 meg speed.. changes may come to the 10meg (and maybe different speeds will pop up and be removed) but we'll deal with that if/when it happens. Speeds 1, 7.5, 25, 50 and 100 were made final in the CRTC decision. Those wont change.

this is all probably too much info for most but figured I'd share regardless.

Shaw added 10Mbps about a year and a half ago to replace 7.5 on the retail side, they even made it 5$ cheaper per month, one 5 min chat session to upgrade was all it took. Don't see 7.5 available anymore!

20 Mbps is a newer profile they added at the same time as the 10 Mbps.

They don't list 1 Mbps on their website anymore (who would want that?), wouldn't be surprised if they removed that rate at some point.

I think the CRTC decision ordered them to produce updated tariffs with accurate speeds.

That's a shame about the high end packages..

$115 for 250 1tb from shaw is just too good to pass up when I move. I was hoping I could still support you guys personally when I move. However I still have two different family members with you guys, so all is not lost

Glad to see the return of the 300GB plans. Hopefully someday the faster will become more affordable, but for now I'm content on 25.

British Columbia or Alberta

Very nice areas, much less stress than Montreal too (and I was born, lived 24+ years, and still live in Montreal)

Well done with the new areas. Would love to hear news about TSI moving into Eastlink territory, but hey, one victory at a time, right?

Oh, and too bad about skipping over Bow Island. How many subs do you need in an area to make it worth your time?

Tx!

I'm not sure where Bow island falls on their grid.. Their "aggregated TPIA" is actually less aggregated than their old setup... So we would need to see what POI it's connected to and get capacity to it to service more areas.
