[Cable] NEW RATES - Rogers

Please note that these are not yet available at this time. We can not take orders with these rates yet. This post is for discussion purposes only and will only be discussed here. Our associates will not be able to answer inquiries about these rates or packages.

Hey Gang,

Here's what we're looking at for Rogers territory in Ontario and Quebec

6/0.256 mbps (TPIA & ATPIA)
25 Gigs - $24.95
300 Gigs - $30.95
Unlimited - $40.95

18/0.512 mbps (TPIA)
300 Gigs - $39.95
Unlimited - $54.95

25/2 mbps (ATPIA) - DOCSIS 3 modem required
300 Gigs - $39.95
Unlimited - $59.95

28/1 mbps (TPIA)
300 Gigs - $46.95
Unlimited - $61.95

35/3 mbps (ATPIA) - DOCSIS 3 modem required
300 Gigs - $49.95
Unlimited - $79.95

45/4 mbps (ATPIA) - DOCSIS 3 modem required
300 Gigs - $54.95
Unlimited - $99.95

150/10 mbps (ATPIA) - DOCSIS 3 modem required
300 Gigs - $84.95
Unlimited - $219.95

On plans that have usage caps - unlimited between 2am and 8am

TPIA = CRTC Legacy - Third Party Internet Agreement
These rates are currently available until we migrate each area to ATPIA

ATPIA = CRTC Aggregated - Third Party Internet Agreement
These rates will become available in various areas as we migrate from TPIA.

Specifically, 18 and 28 meg rates will be granfathered and no longer available once we migrate.

Fuuuurst!

So, what is to differentiate between the 18 mbps 300 gigs and the 25 mbps 300 gigs? Uplink speed?

Thanks for posting this, Marc. Appreciate your efforts.

Not at all as bad as I was expecting. Marc: I assume there is still no real timeline for WHEN these speeds will be offered? Thanks.

Which way would existing 28 customers be bumped? To 35 or 25? Are we going to be able to pick?

Edit: wanted to qoute the 18 and 28 speeds not existing when moved to agg.

What are the overage rates and is there going to be a maximum cap or it just keeps going up?

Wow...these are not nearly as bad as I was expecting except for some of the unlimited plans. I guess it is good to have low expectations and get pleasantly surprised rather than vice-versa.

The 2-8 am unlimited window is brilliant way of making lemonaid from the CRTC lemons you were dealt. This makes the 300GB package workable for my case.

I would be moving to a higher speed as soon as the ATPIA is ready in Ottawa.

Thanks Marc!

I imagine it is going to be like start.ca and just keeps going up.

Any idea of a timeframe for ATPIA?

Not too bad at all. I'd gladly take the 28/1 300G -> 35/3 300G for only $3 increase.

I was worried it would be much worse, but you guys did a great job on the numbers.

Is there any ETA when the ATPIA rates will be available? I'm on St. Laurent POI.

Edit: Looking at it, the 45/4 300G is looking very tempting... If you guys, you know, need a beta tester for ATPIA I'm always willing .

Hey, not as bad as I thought it would be, for ATPIA...

I wonder though, for the 150 tier, the price gap between 300 & unlimited is huge. There may be some users who will want a bit more than 300, but not unlimited.

It would be nice if there was an intermediate usage option or two, perhaps 400 & 500gb.

Unlimited is nice, but at this price I doubt you will have many people going for it, so it might be a good idea to offer a few extra packages in between.

No 150GB rates out east, eh? Might be useful for some, no?

You could always go for the 300G package and then pay overages (staying at $0.50/G?)

Pleasantly surprised!
Looks like I might stay on cable I'll definitely be moving up in speed, but what do I move to? 45/4 or maybe even 150/10.

Most people don't like overcharges, one way or another. You got a package you know what your limit is, you stay within it. Same bill every month.

Any idea on modem options to support the 150/10 tier? My 6120 is only rated for 100mbps (According to Motorolla's product sheet).

I'm sure others will offer something better, I'm fine with that.

I guess you'll actually be able to track usage with aggregated so thats why 2-8 is unlimited. That will be nice for the capped accounts. I prefer to never have to worry.

Ooh, rolling average would be great! Though, I doubt I go over the 300G as it is now...

Wow... presently surprised I was expecting it to go up a lot more than that. Gonna make the decision between DSL and Cable a lot harder. Can't wait to see the bell offerings now

These rates are definitely manageable. Might just bump up to the 35/3 unlimited when the time comes.
