Internet outage?

My folks business line at their office went down. I cannot reach them on chat, and my sister just messaged me claiming that her internet is down. Twitter seems to be blowing up too.

My Start home connection (Rogers territory) is fine, since I can see all my devices online on iCloud.

Barrie area– anyone else experiencing issues?

Fastest way to get an answer is to just call Rogers directly and speak to tech support, just ask them if their are any outages in Barrie and they will likely ask you for an account name/number.

It's really no rush, I'm just curious. It seems confirmed from all the Twitter postings. I'll just wait it out, they can do without internet for the time being, haha.

Edit: Looks like people called in and they are confirming areas north of Toronto are experiencing an outage. No ETA on a fix.

Seems to be out here in Ottawa. Modem is still online but no DHCP.

You can probably blame me for this one. I'm at home because I was waiting for a delivery so I thought I could work remotely but then my equipment started acting weird, then the cable went out and I need the VPN tunnel to the office to be up.

I'm fairly certain we're on different cable headends.

The only good thing is I use Telus for my wireless so at least I can tether for general internet..

Right, I got my border lines mixed up. If I remember correctly you're down around QGP which is on RCHRD whereas I'm on FLFRD.

I never remember the actual names but that sounds about right. Ironically they also got around to switching me to the unlimited plan but I can't even use it right now.

Wonder if its just a DNS issue like last time.

If so, the quick work around is to change your DNS to point to google at 8.8.8.8

I can't even get an IP after I released my address. Assuming I don't have other issues, DNS is the last thing it could be.

Yes lost internet starting at 10 AM this morning. Rogers are very slow to fix IMO ... posting now using my iPhone tethered to my laptop.

Called tech support, 15min wait time which means 30 min, so no point in waiting as its not only me that's out. Sent from my phone on rogers lol

Outage, or maintenance?

I was on 99 IP before it went out at 9:30, its back up now in Kanata and I'm now on 174 IP range...

Seems to indicate they've made some changes.

Anyone else notice anything change?

i got my .50 cent credit for complaining about todays outage, but is it worth complaining for a measly 50 cents? i could find 2 quarters on the ground with less time than it took to call fido

My Start connection remained up too, about 2 streets away from the business line with Rogers that went down.

Roger will not tell you, I have problem with my internet connection dropping out and they insist to play the unplug the modem game with me and say How may I help you as soon as the boot sequence complete
