[TekTalk] NEW TekTalk PROMO - Digital Home Phone

Hey Gang,

We will also be offering a TekTalk promo for Ontario and Quebec.

The promo is simple;

TekTalk Unlimited goes to $22.95

Dry Loop monthly fee included.

All those who currently have TekTalk will automatically get this promo. Including the Dry Loop. (if you're on Cable, you will also get the lower rate)

This promo will be available for the rest of the year to coincide with the DSL promo.

A lower cost Grandstream ATA will be available soon.

The Local Phone rate, however, will go to $25/mth.

Just to check, that's only for the unlimited? Still have to pay the dryloop if you are on premium?

Ouch. Did Bell raise the price?

2 words Marc. Thank you. Thank you.

I've been looking for a way to wring myself off this dryloop and I hate the phone number you guys gave me...gave me a dead woman's phone number that the CBC didn't even know about.... (I know not your fault lol), but it'll give me a reason to get rid of this stupid POTS offering, especially if POTS is going to go up $3+ / month....might as well save me that and get all the features!!

When can I sign up?

Hmm, so if I'm doing my math right, if I'm currently paying $14.95 + $9.10 dry loop = $24.05, switching to unlimited would actually save me $1.10 per month...?

I was thinking the same thing.

Marc, for clarification:

1. The dry-loop for free is also a promo until year end?

2. Or if you subscribe to the TekTalk Unlimited until the end of the year you'll get the free dry-loop "for life"?

3. Or the free dry-loop will always be available with TekTalk Unlimited?

I gave you that idea about free dry-loop, didn't I? But you didn't put it on DSL itself. Instead you put it toward Tektalk. I get it. Smart move, Mark.

Question for you Marc:

VoIP providers like Vonage (my current provider) and Primus offer unlimited long distance calling to a selection of international destinations. Australia is one of these such destination my family calls frequently, so it is what has held me from ordering TekTalk.

Are there any plans in the future to add this feature? I realize that'd make a plan more costly. The promo rate you have now is great but for an extra $8 from Vonage I get the unlimited international calling which my family loves right now.

Tempting... But... How many concurrent in/out channels are TekTalk trunks provisioned for when setup for BYOD? I use 2 in and 2 out channels (total outbound minutes 2-2500/month and about the same for inbound).

Also are trunks setup for passthrough CNAM included for Canadian sources and CNAM lookup for US sources?

+1 please answer this asap as it makes or breaks the deal.

The dry loop is tied to the DSL service... If you change the DSL service and the promo is no longer available.. You will loose the promo price in a similar way as you would the FTTN promo if you had that to. Otherwise you will have the dry loop included as long as you do the service...

What's up with this? You pulling a "Bell" on me? Feels just like it!

Seriously - did Bell increase your costs or am I now to be subsidizing your TekTalk promo?

It's no secret that the local phone service has been problematic for a number of reasons...

Yeah. The 'problem' as I have been reading it is that people want it but you can't supply it. I already have it - for more than a year. I would still like an reasonable explanation why my rate has to go up just so you can discourage others from wanting it. I have also read how you dislike 'grandfathering' but this would be a very good example of where it would be justified.
