Re: Verizon is Offering to Change STB because of Lineup changesThe 6xxx do not support MPEG-4 compression, while the 7xxx boxes do.
So, if you watch/subscribe to the channels in the e-mail, you will require a 7xxx series box. |

I don't subscribe to the HBO channels listed, but I do have the others (923, 924, 926, 928, 929, 1002). |

Others with Ultimate have already gotten their replacements. See the other thread on this topic. This is why we don't need another thread on this topic. People have to repeat information. |

The problem I have is : 1. The set top box exchange is not located under in-home agent - it is located under customer support just below the in-house agent. 2. When I activate and go thru the process, it indicates that I'm compatible and there is no further option to do an exchange. Where is the option to initiate the exchange? Thanks, Harvey |

So, if you watch/subscribe to the channels in the e-mail, you will require a 7xxx series box. So this is about compression and not switched video or something? Just wondering because I have a Tivo with cablecard. And switched video would break compatibility or at least require an adapter. |

Surprisingly I live in an area where SDV is used for most of the HD channels by Time Warner Cable and they actually took Discovery HD off of SDV and put in on a dedicated QAM on 57MHz and unencrypted due to it being in the limited basic tier I have 144 HD channels and only 22 HD channels are not SDV. |

Yes, TiVo Premieres handle the current FiOS MPEG4 channels just fine.(If you have a Series 3 box then you are SOL). This is great news. Hopefully they start switching even more channels to MPEG4 and then adding some more HD MPEG 4 channels as well. I only wish the change would occur on March 15th instead of April 15th. The sooner the better. |
