I am not picky on whether it runs on Steam or not, but by the end of the year I will be gaming on Linux exclusively. So if it is not on Steam, I probably won't be getting it. |

You know that Steam isn't an operating system, right? No game "runs on" Steam. They may be offered through Steam, and may refuse to function if Steam isn't loaded, but Steam itself contributes absolutely nothing to the running of games, other than maybe a pretty front end.
