 | 3360 modem keeps losing internet connection I have a Mot 3360 modem about 6 months old and it keeps losing the internet connection. I will try to get on and the modem status page comes up and says "PPPOE FAILED". I can unplug the power and put it back and everything works again. What can cause this? I have a router after the modem,do I need to do the PPPOE on it? -- Motorola 3360,Trendnet TEW-432BRP ROUTER, GA-P43T-ES3G E8400,4GB ram,HD4650 VID,PowerEdge SC430,ECS N2U400-A,AMD XP3200+,1GB ddr memory, Radeon 9800XT AGP |

1.) set the modem to pass you the public IP address 2.) change the setting to "always attempt to connect" instead of smart keep alive. |

 | I did notice that the phone line crosses the electric line and touches it at one point right before it ties to the house , should I call to have them move it? -- Motorola 3360,Trendnet TEW-432BRP ROUTER, GA-P43T-ES3G E8400,4GB ram,HD4650 VID,PowerEdge SC430,ECS N2U400-A,AMD XP3200+,1GB ddr memory, Radeon 9800XT AGP |

 | Seems to be random, It was dropping once a day for a few days and now it has not done it for 4or5 days. I have some water pipe insulation that I may put on the line to move it away from the electric line a couple of inches. -- Motorola 3360,Trendnet TEW-432BRP ROUTER, GA-P43T-ES3G E8400,4GB ram,HD4650 VID,PowerEdge SC430,ECS N2U400-A,AMD XP3200+,1GB ddr memory, Radeon 9800XT AGP |
