| [Spam] Unsolicited Text Message Wanting Me to Respond Got this unsolicited text message:
Sent from phone number 1-647-829-7017.
Hey everybody, I'm now on the galaxy phone. Listen up!!! You need to change my contact on your I phone to a mobile number in order for me to get your messages. As you get this message send one back so I know you have followed the instructions and I know we are capable of communication! Thank you, Oshawn
Funny that I don't know anyone at that number and don't have that number as a contact. I don't wish to respond for fear that I may get spammed, dinged for premium messages or worse! |

| reply to fspilot If you're on Verizon Wireless, forward those to 7726 and then reply to the follow-up message that asks for the number it came from (many come from vtext or other email sources...doesn't seem to cause a problem if you enter it). For other carriers, check their websites or call your customer service number.
Never, ever reply to texts like these or call the number. I got one over the weekend that sait it was my daughter and she had been arrested in London and needed me to call a number in Malta to make arrangements for her release. Uh huh. I don't have a daughter. There are also a lot of texts claiming that your card or checking account has been suspended and that you must immediately call some number to restore it. DO NOT. If you're concerned about a problem with your accounts, contact your bank at the number on your statement. -- "Dance like the photo isn't being tagged; love like you've never been unfriended; and tweet like nobody is following." |

| reply to fspilot On my Android, I use »play.google.com/store/apps/detai···lcontrol This should be available on the iPhone as well.
This app stops calls and text msgs - I would ask them if they block Canadian numbers as well. Can't see why they wouldn't.
