[General] Home Phone Connect

I stopped at a local Verizon retail store to see when 4G would be available at my home. The salesperson was not able to help me with that issue but offered Home Phone Connect (Not Home Fusion) to replace my land line. The service is available for $20.00 per month for unlimited service. The device (No charge with 2 Year Contract or $129.00 if purchased at time of activation for month to month service.) connects to Verizon's cellular system and a standard land line telephone.

Has anyone reading this post installed and used home phone connect? I will be staying at a location away from my home rate center in area code 352, this summer and want to establish a local telephone number at my temporary location in area code 321. I was told that I could move the home phone connect equipment back to my normal residence in area code 352 and use it as a second telephone line, without any issues. Has anyone reading this post used home phone connect in this manor and are you satisfied with the service?

The home connect is basically a cellphone. I have it as do my parents and several other people I know. The service works fine if you are in a good coverage area. My parents have had issues with the service because they have spotty service. The issues are just like cellphone issues in a bad area, dropped call, call breakup, etc. The other issue my parents had was porting their number. It took them a few weeks to finally get all the bugs out. I don't know exactly what was wrong but their number would simply quit working. You would try to call it and it would say the number is not in service. Also, they would suddenly not be able to make calls to certain areas/number prefixes. The biggest complaint I've heard from people is the call quality. Its not as good as a copper line. Its cell phone quality and numerous times people have said to me that it sounds like you're in a barrel.

ALMOST $9 worth of taxes on that plan as well.........

You'd be better to get the Straight Talk connect Home phone from Wal-Mart..... Its only $15 per month with no taxes and the device is 89.99. It uses Verizon.

Straight Talk for home phone connect does charge tax in my aera so saying they don't charge taxes is incorrect.

It cost 17/month with tax's with Straight Talk for me and alot places as well.
