Facebook notification won't clear

Phone is a Droid Razr ICS that's rooted but still running the stock ROM. I'm also using the smart actions to shut off background data while the phone's screen is off (trying to conserve battery).

Yesterday, I got a notification on the phone that is as follows:
Facebook (build 132866): Download Requires Network

I can not clear this notification. I've power cycled the phone, no change. I cleared cache/data and did a force stop, then power cycled again, still no change. I uninstalled updates but did not try reinstalling them, then went into Titanium Backup and made backups of both Facebook and FB Authenticator. I uninstalled both from TI Backup and rebooted the phone again. This damn notification is still there even without Facebook being installed.

I did search google and found some suggestions on doing basically everything I've already done above. I figured uninstalling and reinstalling would be a last ditch effort but it didn't even help. Anyone else have any ideas?

Isn't there a place to remove accounts that the phone updates? Have you removed it from there? Settings > Accounts..something like that

Anyone know what this is? I have the same notification, but with the JB update coming out, I don't know if this is related, or a good or bad thing to stop...

I'm having the same notification on my Droid X2. Similarly, nothing I have tried rectifies it and googling the problem has lead me here. Would be interested to know if you find a solution. I'll post here if I find one too.

I have a droid razr maxx and here is the fix that i found...it was actually really simple. i went to my downloads found the file that was trying to download (dated today) selected it and hit delete. notification was gone immediately after that. problem solved.

Bingo! That fixed it. I never would have suspected it was trying to download something. For that matter, I wonder what it was trying to download? Either way thank you very much for that deceptively simple fix!

Had the same issue of build 132866 downloading for 3 days. I finally went to the Downloads section on my phone and it gave me the option to delete the session.

System settings-Download then delete the Build app that is in process.

I had the same problem. Everyones started at the same time. The answer is to Activate your WIFI and it will download.

Finally, something that worked. Have been trying to stop this for days. Even uninstalled facebook from my device. Something as simple as turning wifi on!
I never would have thought of thought of that. Many thanks

Been on my phone for two weeks. Finally got it off. They couldn't even do it at the Verizon Store. Thanks!

This site performs miracles, I had a problem with my minivan that technicians were saying would involved taking apart my entire odometer panel and cost around $650 dollars, came here asked what could it be or could be done in the automotive forum and fixed the issue in my car by doing what they told me, it took me 18 seconds to fix it.
