Windstream hit an all new low today.
I should start by saying we have had the same service without change for 23 years but it looks as though we may have to change.
Have had extremely slow speeds of and on and our wireless only works from time to time any more.
We have been talking to windstream for some time about this and a couple months ago they sent us a new wireless modem but things have been worse since then.
Called windstream again today about our broadband only to be told there is nothing they can do about it because of outages in our area. I asked if they were telling me this has been for months and they said yes.
I explained that I had a slow broadband connection now but no wireless. Laptops, etc. show connection available but nothing can connect. They will randomly connect though but it's hit and miss.
I explained that this was just not right. We are paying for a service that they admit they can not provide, the problem is on their end, and have no idea if or when they will be able to deliver what we are paying for.
We've been putting up with poor service for years and it has gotten to the point of not knowing if or when we will have service from day to day/ hour to hour.
We were told just flat our there was nothing they could or would do.
This is just not right.
Looks like it's time to start looking for an alternative.
Send me a PM with the phone number associated to your DSL please. I would like to take a look at your modem. I should be able to remote into it and see what the problem is and fix it, or at least come up with some sort of conclusion. Regarding the slow speeds; have you received any sort of Repair Estimate, or information regarding specifically what/where the problem is in the network?

Wow. For some reason we've actually had a broadband connection for almost 2 days and actually had some sort of speed out of it off and on. Then again, the day is not over. Still got dropped a couple time though.
