4620le ac adaptor only?

rb5505 join:2013-02-06 Stoughton, WI	4620le ac adaptor only? can the 4620le be used without the battery and just powered by the ac adaptor? so far it's been stationary, so i thought i'd ask to see if i could save the battery life.
