50/25 vs 75/35 Upload Fluff

My friend on 50/25 gets about 59/40 (~60% increase) while I get 84/39 (~11% increase) on my 75/35.

I don't understand why they are short changing the upload speed on the 75/35 tier.

The fluff is same if you look at the raw numbers. Apparently the fluff used is same raw bandwidth so yes the percentage increase will be lower the faster the speed.

They are giving you more than you pay for and they are short changing you?

I agree stop complaining for them giving you more than you pay for or go to some other ISP and get less then they advertise and complain about that too. You people are something else complaing about getting more than advertised when some people get way less than advertised. You have some serious issues if you complain about getting more than your supposed too

Just upgraded to 50/25 from 35/35. I took the 10 dollar upgrade they were offering.

I am now getting about 59/34.

My upload is actually better now than before, even though I went from 35 to 25.

I'm only getting 155/70 from my 150/65 tier.
Am I being short changed too?

Apparently, those on the old 150/35 plans like myself, actually test at 154/69.

Those with the new 150/65 plans actually test as high as 155/74 or so.

This is assuming you have the triple play package (or at least TV service)

Was it always like that? I had the 150 plan from Oct. 2011 then upgraded to the 300 plan a year later, both times with only internet service and I had these results:

Re: 50/25 vs 75/35 Upload Fluff

Yes, to what I know at least. The whole TV service part lots of other users have posted is required to get fluff. Not sure why you are seeing the fluffed speeds. Maybe its dont to the higher tiers on purpose? Either way, the differences in the two packages still apply with the upload speed as you can see.

I have the quadruple play and I get very little fluff. But I also don't rent any STBs from FiOS because I use several TiVos instead.

Sorry guys, I didn't mean to sound ungrateful at all. I am blessed to be able to get the service. I just wanted to vent.

I have data only, with significant fluff.

So much fluff, in fact, that I'm afraid to upgrade plans and end up paying more for similar speeds.

On the 50/25 I can run 61.5 all day and night. I like the speed...

My upgrade was similar to serge87. Downloads improved substantially (with fluff) but uploads stayed the same. Basically real speeds went from 63/37 (50/25) to 84/37 (75/35).

Anyone not getting any download fluff?

I used to get about 43/39 when I had 35/35 service on BPON ont. I briefly upgraded to 150/65 and got 155/73 on the new GPON ont. When I later downgraded to 75/35, I never saw anything higher than 74/39. I'm getting the expected upload fluff but zero download fluff.

Is download fluff for lower tiers (75/35, 50/25) not offered on GPON setups?

Are you still getting the TV package?

Yes, no changes to my TV package (still on Ultimate). I just figured that Verizon does not offer download fluff on GPON setups but I need someone else on GPON to verify that assumption.

Re: 50/25 vs 75/35 Upload Fluff

Just in case I didn't throw my setup in there.
Triple play, ultimate, with 150/35 speeds; when it literally first became available. Switched from BPON to GPON.
I test at 155/69.
