mousePremium join:2007-03-29 australia | reply to antdude any idea why the file size for an internal update from 18 to 19.02 is 20% larger than the complete download of the new version? |

18 to 19.0, you would have gotten the small patch file (.mar). 18 to 19.0.2, you get the full patch (still a .mar). Had you already had 19.0 (or 19.0.1) you would have gotten the small patch file.
Kind of silly that it works out larger. But otherwise your only option would be to manually download the 19.0.2 installer. So you loose on the automation end.
firefox-16.0.2-19.0.2.partial.mar 14813373
firefox-17.0.1-19.0.2.partial.mar 13938173
firefox-18.0.2-19.0.2.partial.mar 10379856
firefox-19.0-19.0.2.partial.mar 2815851
firefox-19.0.1-19.0.2.partial.mar 2680413
firefox-19.0.2.complete.mar 25644068
(Sometimes by circumstance, you can end up with a complete.mar, regardless.) |

mousePremium join:2007-03-29 australia | yes, but if I download the file from FF it comes in at 20,083 kb, so what are the additonal 5,5561 kb for? Seems indeed silly that to patch up something you need 20% than the full version. |
