| [Northeast] Extremely slow today Northeast? Today I have noticed my speeds are sluggish, so I decided to run a speed test and to my surprise its running about 5 - 7 Mbps on the download side? Is anybody else experiencing issues in the Northeast with slow speeds? I'm getting these slow speeds from Verizon's server as well.
Specs:
I have the 150/75 package. Actiontech router MI424WR Rev I. I am using Linksys/Cisco EA4500 router to provide wireless internet in the house and has worked perfectly until today (2 weeks give or take). I'm going to unplug the EA4500 and do some more speed tests to see if the router is causing the issue.
6th hop at 120 ms.. does this indicate an issue?

| The 6th hop is on Verizon's internal network and the peering exchange happens at the timed out hop 10 I presume. After experiencing first-hand and seeing dozens of other complaining about the same issues I've sadly come to accept this as the new standard operating procedure for Verizon  |

Running speedtests to NY and NJ servers and I'm getting the slow download speeds. I ran a speedtest in OH and PA and much better results. Perhaps something is wrong with the test servers or the routing in the northeast is poor. |
