netflix

Perhaps more shows will move over to netflix, like House of Cards. There is no reason to pirate content available there.

Im curious to see how Netflix's model of releasing every episode at once works out for them. I would love if more shows were released this way. Its not like HBO is living off commercials in the middle of episodes.

No, but if they released all episodes at once, people that only want GoT will watch it, and cancel within a month. By doing it for 10 weeks, they are getting 3 months of subcriptions.

I dont know if you are aware but Netflix released House of Cards this way and my point was Id enjoy GoT being released that way but wondered how the model would work out for Netflix on HoC.

It seems from this article I pulled up its kind of working for them, at least in Canada.

Netflix has done a wonderful job at transforming itself where as many big companies try to hold on to their old business models (such as Blockbuster, Kodac, etc.). I hope they shake the industry up some more.

The cost vs convenience of Netflix is hard to beat. Though many people still like to rip them to shreds.
