It appears that Pepco has cut service to the local node.
We have power from Pepco at our home.
Why isn't there any battery backup at the node located at the corner of Washington Ave and Larry Place in Chevy Chase Maryland?
Why wasn't this problem fixed two days ago when the issue was first reported?
Can we please get some escalation and prompt resolution of this issue, including fixing the battery, so that the next time Pepco turns off the power to the node (which could be at any time) we don't lose all of our RCN services.
TIA |

Is this information correct? |

We have a happy ending!
Turns out the battery backup/power supply in the Node on the pole located at Washington Avenue and Larry Place around the corner from our home had failed resulting in our two all service outages last week; but this has now been repaired.
A supervisor from the RCN line department was dispatched yesterday to our home to make certain that this issue had been resolved fully.
RCN really is like a small family that cares about every subscriber.
That is a class act folks!
Thank you Jason for your assistance, and please give a shout out of thanks to the line crew and their supervisor for correcting the battery/supply issue and stopping by to see me.
Now let the spring thunderstorms begin!
Best regards,

artjohnPremium join:2000-11-17 Chevy Chase, MD | Our neighborhood in Chevy Chase, yet again, suffered a loss of commercial power early this morning.
But this time, all RCN services remained up!
Huzzah!
In fairness to Pepco, water gushing from the WSSC 54" water main pipe break took out a tree which took down the main power feeder lines on Connecticut Avenue North at Chevy Chase Lake. Power was restored with an hour (Pepco crews were fortunately on the scene anticipating the problem.)
Kudos to RCN and its outside lineman and crews (and our Kohler 18KW backup generator! ) -- Who is wise? The one who learns from all. Ben Zoma |
