| 20 yr old laid off wind tech needs work asap. i just started in this industry 4 months ago thinking i could have a decent stable career, well the whole traveling division including I got laid off as of yesterday. I don't know too much about tower work, but, I'm willing to learn for cheap. pay the per diem and $10-$12 and you got yourself a greenhorn who'll stick it out with you for 6 months to a year - maybe more.
Reason why I'm bartering my wage down is I'm not comtrain certified, and really cannot afford to drain my savings down any further at the moment.
clean background, valid license, no dwi's, can pass a drug test. did a lot of torquing and replacement of electronic equipment in the turbines including the faa strobe light while climbing 300' everyday. i've had to deice and inspect our FAA strobe, windvane, and anemometer during a blizzard in 44mph winds - so defintely not scared of heights nor abnormal weather conditions..that's about all the work exp that i can think of that could be applicable to the tower industry.
