Is live chat embedded into a webpage or do you need to use chat software?
If it's embedded in a webpage how is the live chat implemented? Java, Javascript?
To get help more information is needed.

Yep, chat on TWC doesn't like my Debian sid either. Same error message. I don't have Windows so cannot check from it.

Is this the site?

Ignore the losangeles, I don't use TWC so I just dummied that up. Anyway, if this is similar to your problem chat page, then it will only function on a Windows OS machine because of there requirement for these controls »help.rr.com/hmslogic/e_chatCtrl.html

You didn't say which browser but Firefox has a few user-agent switching add-ons. I know they've been successful for other such situations. I doubt they'd need ActiveX these days but that would be a killer.

Edit: aguen See Profile seems to have the bad news. That's brain-dead and I think excludes Macs, too.

Unfortunately, TWC only supports Windows and Mac, and I.E. or (I think) Firefox under those OSes. If you get chat to work under something else, bully for you. Otherwise, they're not interested in (helping) you, at least not through their Web site and such. So much for standards (like DOM and ECMA/Java Script), their "standards" are Apple and Microsoft.

I see this all too well, because they don't test for this before inviting you into chat to begin with. They'll put up a form which solicits your name and so forth, then after trying to enter chat, they'll tell me I'm not using a supported browser. Oh, joy.

English is a difficult enough language to interpret correctly when its rules are followed, let alone when a writer chooses not to follow those rules.

Jeopardy! replies and randomcaps REALLY suck!
