| Option 8 when dynamic IP changes? I am currently running an expired Triple Play bundle with 15/5 Internet, and will be upgrading to a new bundle with 75/35. My network gear is all very old and slow and needs upgrading, as well (my APs don't even do 802.11n!).
I'm looking at the alternative configurations, specifically Option 8, to preserve as much functionality as I can. I don't use MediaShare software, so giving that up doesn't bother me.
Here's my dilemma. The wonderfully detailed instructions for Option 8 say that whenever the dynamic IP address from Verizon changes, you have to update the secondary router. With residential service, my IP address changes about once a week or any time I have to reboot the Actiontec. I might not always be around to do this, much less notice it happened, and trying to explain to a family member how to do this over the phone would be impossible.
Is there any way to automate or avoid this manual maintenance of the whole setup when the dynamic IP address changes?
