FibeTV + Internet + Router + Switch + Wireless

Hi,

Scheduled to get FibeTV and 25/10 internet next week. My current setup is Bell DSL (Speedstream modem) connected to Asus RT-N66U router doing the PPPOE connecting, wireless and the LAN. I've got ethernet cables from the router feeding a few devices including a switch and then the switch feeding a few more devices. So like 12 Gig port in all. When the Fibe install is complete I'd like to still have use of the 12 ports and also use the router to do wireless. Is this possible and how, or what would be the best possible outcome/scenario I could hope for? I know I could turn off wireless in the Sagecom, put the router into AP mode and have it be the wireless access point but I'd still like use of the 4 ports on it.

Thanks

Then you could do a DHCP connection with your ASUS, leaving the Sagemcom modem/router doing the PPPOE.

If you let the ASUS router do the PPPOE, I'm not sure the ports on the Sagemcom will be usefull... maybe you could do 2 PPPOE session, not sure if that's gona work either.

Hi,

So plug the ASUS into the Sagecom via one of the 4 LAN ports, which would leave me with 3 remaining + the 8 on the switch or plug the switch into the Sagecom and then the ASUS into the switch? Still turn off wireless on the Sagecom and change the ASUS into AP mode?

Thanks

I have three sessions via the Sagemcom HOWEVER, I did login using the "hack" in the Teksavvy forum and remove their remote access so that they don't do an audit and re-set it to their stupid B1 crap.
