Thank you cox

Thanks for letting me play Simcity 5 without any disruptions! I am curious how much bandwidth does gaming take?

I have over 50 hours of Simcity 5 already logged should I be worried ?

Re: Thank you cox

You were able to play 5 hours straight? Wow.. that takes skill with their servers. XD

Honestly though, from what I heard from the other forums, best guess is about 10-15MB a hour. Alot of it depends on the health of the server, if you just have one city Vs many, how you play, your game speed, etc. Also I guess when you first start it it automatically starts downloading a update 5GB+, so take that into consideration too.

I wouldn't worry about online bandwidth for gaming as that takes nothing, Kbps. Downloading the game though probably took a nice chunk, that's like 10GBs right?

Actually I would normally agree, if we were taking FPS or MMORPG, but I think this game stores your maps online and it also sync stats and a bunch of other things, so from what I heard the bandwidth use is abnormally high. The unknown is how much of that transfer rate is just error correction and resent data because of server issues.

cox has nothing do with sims city they had issues the minute their game was released its so bad, people give that game 1.6/2.9 rating.

3features of that game was disabled in order for it to run.

My point is I haven't had any problems sense the beginning of the launch at all.

Game downloaded in less than 2 hours I got it before the rush.

My tongue in cheek comment aside, he is posting a positive post, which I don't think we see enough of around here. Lately, the servers have been a lot better, I'm just annoyed with the UI bugs. I personally give this thread a thumbs up.
