Flash not playing in IE9

(moderator: not sure where this belongs; please move where you think appropriate)

I am running Win7 Pro. If I bring up "http://icanhas.cheezburger.com/" in IE9, flash videos don't work. e.g. "Heidi the Bunny's Hydrotherapy" has the title and nothing else. If I bring the site up in Chrome, they do play. But there are some sites which run vids just fine in IE9. In fact, in Chrome, by right clicking on the video, selecting "Copy video URL at current time" and then pasting that into a new tab in IE9 has the video playing just fine. Can anyone tell me if there is some setting I need to do to fix this and have vids play on all sites in IE9?

TIA

(just realized vids aren't working on this site either. e.g. I just went over to the watercooler and clicked into »(Video) The Pain of Electricity (AC versus DC) and I don't see the vid.)

Check the manage addons-plugins option to see if flash is enabled.

Usually uninstalling and reinstalling the proper latest version fixes this annoying plugin.

Within manage-addons, I see "Shockwave Flash Object" from Adobe Systems and it is enabled. Is there something else I need?

I just uninstalled Flash and then downloaded and re-installed the latest version. Same thing is happening, even though when it was done installing, the Adobe site confirmation came up and I saw animation from that site saying it was successful. but I don't seen anything showing up in manage addons.

Ideas?

Thanks. I did try that and the animation works. It is just some sites (actually quite a few) where it doesn't work. Others work just fine. I can't figure out why. embedded vids on this site don't. But if I link to youtube, youtube plays fine.

It is frustrating. . .

As I mentioned, I have gone to the same site in Chrome and it works as it should.

I am up to date with flash. And today, just for grins, I let an update go through so I now have IE10. Same thing is happening. I can go to a site and the flash doesn't work. If I go to the same site in Chrome, it does. Back in IE-land, if I view the source code of the page, and pick out the specific url for the video, paste that into the address, poof, it brings up a working vid.
PITA. . .

thank you for the link. I went there and it doesn't apply in this situation. You would think it would, but noooooooo.

Excellent question. I don't know! How do I get to see the flash player settings you show?

Control panel -> Flash Player

At first I didn't see it in Control Panel. But I searched for flash and then spotted it. Yep I have it. Yep it looks just like the picture from ZZZZZZZ with a slight difference.
In his picture he shows

Active X Version: not installed
Plug-in Version 11.6.602.171
In mine, I have
Active X Version: 11.6.602.171
Plug-in Version: Not installed.
(different question: how do you get images to show up? with the <img> tag? and then what do you point to?)
