navyson join:2011-07-15 Upper Marlboro, MD | Looking to upgrade Looking to upgrade from my Driod Bionic to the best phone currently on Verizon.
Based on my research and having visited the Verizon Wireless store, I have narrowed it down to between the Droid DNA and the Samsung Galaxy Note 2.
The Driod DNA is an absolutely stunning phone. Perfect size(5 inches), the most beautiful screen on any phone. However, it has two huge drawbacks for me. 1. Only 16 gig space with no SD card slot. I don't care to save things in the cloud. 2. Small 2,020 non removeable battery
Two similar two issues with my Driod Bionice but a least, the Droid Bionic came with an SD card slot with an 16 gig SD card and it cames with a removable battery and thus, I was able to buy an extended 2,750 battery so that my phone can last the entire day.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is feature backed with a huge 3,100 removable battery and SD card slot
The only "downside" with the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is that it is a bit bigger than I would like and thus, I am wondering if I should wait until until the Samsung Galaxy IV comes out hopefully, it might offer the best combination of what I am lookign for. |

Also do any of these phones support Miracast Wireless Display? |

 | I don't think you'll find another phone with reception as good as Motorola. Since you had a Bionic I think you may see a difference moving to one of those phones if you are in any areas where signal is weak. Just my two cents. |

I have been reading that Samsung phones have subpar radios in them.
I just came across this thread. Now, I am not so sure about getting any Samsung smartphone. »community.verizonwireless.com/thread/786876
I live in a heavily wooded area. No problems with the Bionic phone in terms of signal. I wouldn't want to have a subpar signal especially since I do not have a home phone. |

 | Glad you are aware.
I had an HTC XV6900 a long time ago and the reception on it sucked just as much as Samsung. I really don't know how good they are now. However, as I stated before, I don't think anyone can beat Motorola.
I am in a heavily wooded area also with alot of hills and dead zones so I can tell pretty quickly how good a radio is on a phone. |

| reply to navyson I had to make the same decision last month. After playing with both phones I went with the note 2. I have big hands so size was not a problem, in fact with my aging eyes the big screen is a plus. Mostly did not like the DNA because of the no SD card and non-removable battery. I had a Moto Razar before this and not being able to swap out the battery meant I always traveld with a charger. I have seen no difference in reception but live in an area that always gets full bars, -- THE ROAD: Romans 3:23, 6:23, 5:8, 10:9 |

Has a slightly bigger battery(2300 vs 2020) and 32 vs 16 megs of RAM compared to the Droid DNA

 | reply to Cheese I think you're misunderstanding what I was saying. I am talking about fringe areas and dead zones, not in the middle of a city or standing under a cell tower. Take a Samsung 7 to 10 miles out from a tower and compare it to a Motorola then you will see what I'm talking about. |

| hehe, you should try an iphone 4.. 3 miles from a tower and with 3 bars and constantly dropped calls and pathetic data speeds... Yet some how we manage to burn up over 10 gigs.. Not sure how being we can't even stream pandora without hiccups... Me thinks they charging for lost packets, and rounding to their favor on usage... |

Any phone, can have a problem. Millions of people use Samsung with little to no issues.
People have reception issues with M too. |

 | reply to navyson While I don't disagree, here's what I'm saying and I'll leave it at that. I have had my hands on HTC, Samsung and Motorola phones for the past 5 years with my company. I am the admin of our corporate account with 50+ lines. Based on my personal experiences with all these phones and based on my geographical location(which is a fringe area), Motorola outperforms Samsung and HTC. Moto has less dropped calls and less chopped audio. I'm not saying Motorola doesn't have this either but its less than the other two. I will say the iPhone is on par with Motorola but of the android phones Moto has yet to be beat in my experience. |
