Well rogers showed up on a Sunday and hooked me up, and I was up and running in 15 mins. I checked my speed now during prime time tonight (10pm) and getting 45mb down and .98 up on my 28/1 connection with the Hawaei modem. I decided to try Acanac after reading congestion/downtime issues with Teksavvy Kitchener POI. I`ve not found many complaints about Acanac in regards to performance and reliability and so far things are good. Will report back after a couple of weeks. I still have my Teksavvy DSL running but will turn it off in a week, I`m switching for the faster speeds as the dsl connection has suffered from evening congestion lately. Start has nice upload speeds but their caps have killed it for me, don`t want to pay$20 more per month just to have a cap I could live with. So far so good with Acanac!
Well I've had a few days with the service and I must say all is well, getting better than advertised speeds most of time, I'm not throttled in the evenings so I guess I don't have congestion issues in my area though Teksavvy does. Yes the upload speed is only 1mb/s but its better than what I've been getting with DSL which helps with the VOIP phones.
I contacted billing to have them adjust my start date as it was 2 weeks after I ordered it. They had it done within 24 hours. I then contacted billing the next day to ask them to turn off auto renewal. Again within 24 hrs retentions had the auto renewal taken off so that I have a choice of my term at renewal time. I am pleased with the service and the price so far, and since there's no complaints of reliability on the net I think I made a good choice.
reply to darrinmc9 Well it's the end of the month and all is well. I'm getting above advertised speeds most of the time, the evening congestion isn't bad, still get 20Mbps down during prime time. Glad I made the switch.
