I don't think customers can disable wifi on this model, or the SMCD3GNV. Comcast techs may or may not do it upon request but I think I'll leave it active because it's good when there are visitors and it's very locked down.
I guess I had initially gone in and disabled WPS and forgotten that. It shows disabled in the config, and tests with the Wash and Reaver tools confirm WPS is disabled.
So any with an Arris TG852G who might be wondering: disabling in the interface completely disables WPS functionality.
