[NV] What is my option if I'm experiencing a slow download speed

What is my option if I'm experiencing a slow download speed.

My situation is for the last 3 nights my result download speed form »test.lvcm.com/ during the evening to the nighttime has been slow. It swang between 1-8 Mbps (my tier is 25 Mbps). Here what I have done so far.

1. I have read that
-You share your bandwidth with your neighbors so too many users can affect the speed.
-COX advertises their speed as an UP TOO... SPEED which means it can not guarantee that you will always get the advertised speed.
-Many users here have the same problem.

2. I am using DOCSIS 3.0 modem and currently on 8 downstream bonded channels (I had the same problem last year they suggested me to get DOCSIS 3.0 modem).

3. I called COX and one of the rep said the signal was fine. They wanted to send their tech to look at it but I refused because I doubted they would be able to fix it. During the daytime speed was fine.

So, rough conclusion is the system was overloaded. That brings to my question that is the slow download speed during that time a recurring problem?

If so, consider COX has raised their price and speed last year and this year should assure the customers getting a consistent speed throughout the day?

Any suggestions and comments would be appreciated.

Thank you.

I am having the same sort of issues and I'm on the ultimate tier. During the morning hours, I will get the advertised speeds, but during the evening hours it will drop pretty dramatically. From 170 Mbps at 10am to 60 Mbps at 10pm. I don't think there is anything wrong with my setup or my connections judging by the faster speeds in the morning. Previous to the speed increases, I got the same speeds throughout the day, so the prime time hours didn't seem to have an effect on my speeds before. I'm also curious if there is anything that Cox can do to fix this.
