Looks like Seattle is going live with the speed upgrade

At least with the upload. I just rebooted my modem & noticed the upload is speed is higher, but download is about the same that I had before

The whole of the I-5/UP RR/CO&P RR corridor(WA-CA) should of got the update as I'm in Tacoma and got it.

Not all of it, Williams, Maxwell and Arbuckle in Colusa County, CA aren't getting the upgrades-

Myself, I'm on US 101 and the NWP RR here in Redwood Valley (Mendocino County) in NW CA, and have the upgrades.

Edit-Also, Redding and it's suburbs aren't Comcast, they are on Charter.

BlastPlus is just a billing package of Blast and Digital Economy TV. Any changes to the Blast package should eventually work your way.

I figured as much but in my area the Blast Plus speed was advertised as 30Mbps and Blast was 2Mbps. However I can confirm I'm now getting 60+Mbps tonight in Hustville, AL so I did get the bump.

Seems like I got the bump in upload speed, but not download.

Is the S-A dpc2100r2 Modem from comcast capable of the speeds? Or do I need to ask for a new modem?

If you subscribe to blast then you'll definitely want to get a docsis 3.0 modem. Because the one you have is a docsis 2.0 I believe.

I should've probably included that! I'm on Performance. But it appears everything is OK now. Shaper Probe gave me this info:
Estimating capacity:
Upstream: 4548 Kbps.
Downstream: 22504 Kbps.

The measurement will take upto 2.5 minutes. Please wait.

Checking for traffic shapers:

Upstream: No shaper detected.
Median received rate: 4442 Kbps.

Downstream: No shaper detected.
Median received rate: 22064 Kbps.

So I think my upgrade is complete now.

Hmm.. I wonder what performance we're getting. 20/4 or 25/5. Commecial is saying up to 60% or so increase here, but i haven't seen anything official in my area.

Seeing those in the Seattle area finally getting speed bumps. I'm on a grandfathered Ultra tier (30/5 approx). I reboot my modem and it appears to have downloaded a new config file, but no change to my speeds. Anyone have any ideas?

you said it best..grandfathered on a tier they no longer offer.
I doubt they will increase the speed for ultra.
You would be much better off "downgrading" to BLAST and get the 50/10 increase.

BTW you didn't get a new config file...you got a firmware update for the modem.

Bill for April
I think the change to drop Powerboost from my area is coming soon, as can be seen in the Internet Services section of my bill.

The first picture comes from my bill for service from March 2, 2013 to April 1, 2013. As you can see by the red arrow, the bill has the words "Includes Powerboost".

Now, on my new bill for service from April 2, 2013 to May 1, 2013, the words "Include Powerboost" have been replaced with "Internet Service".

Going by this, I would make the assumption that sometime on or after April 2, if I reboot my cable modem, I should see the powerboost part of my speed package be removed. I of course don't have an exact date, but going by my bill, I would think it would happen sometime after April 2nd.

So, just wanted to pass this along.

lupus See Profile did in fact get a config file download per his SB log post. Was it a new one? Don't know.

Did he get a firmware update forcing a config file download? Possibly. I don't recall if the SB log keeps track of firmware downloads/versions or it only shows the version elsewhere along with Build Date, S/N, MAC, etc(on the configuration tab?).

When they push a firmware update they use the config file to identify that the correct file is pushed to the right modem.

If you see it says SW download VIA (by the way of) the config file.

It's like I drive VIA my car to get somewhere..
I don't get a new car everytime I drive..lol

You're correct. It reflects parameters in the config file to get firmware. For some reason I was locked into an E101.0/E111.0 NMS pair of status codes instead of the E102.0/E112.0 pair. Oooops!

He did, however, get a 'new' config file since at least SwUpgradeFilename was changed from the previous config file/template..........

Yup, getting it here a little early in Vancouver, WA as well!

Originally on the 16/2 tier and speedtest is showing 25/4. Traffic shaper is still showing PB on for the download though reporting roughly 22Mbps, and normal big file tests back up an actual 20Mbps downstream, not 22 or 25, consistent. Upload is showing unshaped and a consistent 4Mbps+.
