Fibre options, Hamilton

Looking for a company that can provide some type of business wired connection with high/unlimited transfer in the Stoney Creek area. Cogeco doesn't service this street and Bhell has only 6Mb DSL. So I guess that leaves fibre? Any suggestions here?

Where abouts exactly?

Edit: Your options are probably Rogers (via atria fibre), Terago, or Bell fibre.

A dedicated commercial wireless link. Might be cheaper than fibre.

What kind of speeds; and what kind of budget are you looking at for install and MRC?

Atria (aka fibrewired -- owned by rogers) does fibre. IIRC, they're not cheap though.

Hamilton based ISP. They do Fiber and at least as of a couple years ago did wireless as well.

We used the wireless for a few years in Burlington, we had 5Mbps up/down. It was very good, no problems in bad weather. They do/did offer higher speeds as well, but we switched to their fiber a few years ago.

Most providers though just use Bell's fiber or another another existing one. I don't think NAS or many other ISP's will run Fiber to your location if it's not on the street already, at least without billing you several thousand dollars.

Unless you already have fiber in the building, you're probably looking at a dig, which depending on where the nearest splice is, could be prohibitively expensive. You might be able to use DS3, but that will carry a high monthly.

If there is fiber it can be leased by other carriers, usually for less than what it would cost from the incumbent.

Please PM me the address if you'd like me to investigate Allstream options.

Hit me up offline if you like - we work with a few fiber providers in that general area.
