Upgrades I plan to do:

»www.bestbuy.com/site/Coo ··· =1510585

»www.amazon.com/Asus-Rade ··· 04X8EO6Q

I read somewhere that any GPU must be compatible with my chipset. Are these 2 compatible with my MB? I'm also opened to suggestions as to better GPU and PSU if within the $100.00 price range for both. I don't want to spend much money because I plan on buying a whole new machine within a year or two.

You will be fine. Your mobo has a PCIe 1.0 @ x16 slot, so the graphics card will run just fine.

You could probably get away with using a 400w PSU, like this one:

»www.newegg.com/Product/P ··· 17139026

$35 after MIR.

Actually, you will be fine with your 300w PSU and that system. Even with the video card.

Not according to this »www.4allmemory.com/produ ··· eo-card/

They recommend a minimum of 400w.

They do that because really small PSUs (under 300w) can be of questionable quality. That said, the TDP of the 6450 is 27w under full load. You'll be fine.

Hey there,

I have a Corsair TX 750W power supply that I just replaced with a Seasonic X-1050W. I was looking for a modular solution using multiple nVidia cards. (GTX 570 and GTX 680)

If there is a way to ship this to you COD, send me a PM. It's heavy, otherwise I'd not have an issue just paying for the shipping cost.

It's a great power supply, but it's not modular, and the cables are a challenge to manage if you have a smaller case with only a few components.

Bought it from Newegg on 1/25/2011.

This isn't a sale, I'm willing to give it to you for the cost of shipping. If I can find a way to get it to you for not much over $5, I'd even pay for the shipping cost.

OT, but how do you like the Seasonic? I am getting ready to upgrade from my Corsair AX750 to support two 7970s and an i7-4770K, all OC'd, possibly on water. I'm guessing 1000w will give me a comfortable buffer.

Highest recommendation from me. The build quality is outstanding and the care with how it was packaged is amazing. Plenty of cables of various lengths and configurations that should allow anyone to have exactly what they need right out of the box.

It comes with a 5-year warranty, and I'll probably never need this much power, but I'd rather go big and future-proof my PSU needs for quite some time.

Wow, what a generous offer. Thank you.

I can setup a UPS account and you can send it COD if that's OK?

OK, I setup the account but I need to figure out how to do a COD shipment.

I'm currently committed to another obligation at the moment so I will get it figured out and PM you with the details ASAP.

Your kindness will not go unrewarded.

Thank you very much.

Hey everybody, look what jmn1207 See Profile sent me, free of charge out of the kindness of his heart.

What a surprise, it showed up with my new monitor just a few minutes ago.

Wow, I'm still trying to find words for this act of kindness.

May your troubles be few and your days be filled with happiness and fulfillment.

Thank you, my friend.

It looks like it survived the trip in one piece. That Corsair is built very well, and I wasn't stressing it very hard when I was using it.

I know myself, and while I always have these ambitious projects planned, in the end I'm left with a bunch of computer parts stacked up on a shelf in my closet that just gather dust.

It was just good timing is all. I had a box available that was ready to ship a PSU in, so there was very little effort on my part. I've received a ton of help over the years on these forums, so it was my pleasure to give something back to a one of the long-standing forum members.

Now, if the PSU blows up and ruins your new PC build...

Wow, I see what you mean about the cabling. I could jump start a 6.7L Cummins diesel with this thing.

If I hook this thing up, will a young Kelly Lebrock come busting through my office door?

No. Unfortunately, with a old used PSU you get this one busting through your door demanding some brownies.
