 | reply to kovy 911 works, 310-bell might work, ANAC, silent switch, quiet line, freq run, and all other NPA commands still work. I've never tried 310bell though.. |

 | reply to dutox101 any line that has a dial tone has to have 911 access. This can be a dry service, or a line that is soft dial tone ( no DMS programming)
And yes, when you call 911 from a dry loop or a soft line, the records of the cut through or assigned address of the dryloop show up on the dispatchers screen. |

Also you're saying Bell is charging 911 fee to phone service but not to dry loop ? |

 | reply to kovy I am a bell technician, I have been told that 911 works on anything with tone. I have not personally dialed, as they are always cx's lines and not my own. I have a wet loop at home so I cannot try. -- Opinions expressed are my own, and may or may not reflect those of my employers or any other BCE company or division. |

Heck I even asked a guy who is an expert in phone service aka a coach of residential and business line with 35 years of service and he told me it doesn't work. |

 | It must be an option in the DMS that some assigners use and some don't.. I guess it's hit or miss..
Also.... Scumbag trainers... Lol -- Opinions expressed are my own, and may or may not reflect those of my employers or any other BCE company or division. |

It's a big company we work for and I've been around long enough to see miss-information get passed down quite a few times. I have learned to be very critical of information I receive even if it's from a source I think I trust. Basically because there's no guarantee the person telling you has been given good information, or interpreted information correctly before passing it on.
I'm inclined to believe kovy but honestly I've never attempted to try it myself. So I'm skeptical.
Consider, I'm not being charged a 911 fee on my dryloop. Why would bell provide 911 free to dryloop customers and bill wetloop customers for the same service?
Also, the ONLY reason bell decided to put dialtone on dryloops to begin with was for loop identification purposes. The original DRYLOOPs were truly dry. no dialtone, no voltage, and in most cases, no tags. It turned into a shit-show real fast which necessitated the use of dial-tone and programmed numbers. -- Opinions and ideas expressed in my post are my own and in no way represent those of Bell Canada Enterprises, Bell Canada, Bell TV, Bell Internet, Bell Mobility, Bell Technical Solutions, Expertech, or any other partners under the BCE umbrella. |

 | reply to urbang33k What I was told in training.....
A dryloop is sold for a DSL service and not intended for voice. However since it has dial tone, it has to have access to 911, but since it is not intended to be a voice service there is no 911 service charge.
Best thing I learned in training is pay no attention to your training!! -- Opinions expressed are my own, and may or may not reflect those of my employers or any other BCE company or division. |

I'm not a Bell Canada tech anymore but I did play one on TV...or was that in a different lifetime...anywho on my last contract where I was a Bell doppelganger they told me they are supposed to program 911 and 310-BELL on on dry-loops and restricted circuits for sales purposes and liability reasons. |
