Re: [Cable] ATPIA - Migration Schedule Ya I've explained that to a poster in another thread but I think confirmation from Marc would be better since he's the viewpoint that TSI is screwing his town over (his words). |

| reply to bbhog said by bbhog:To confirm your POI run the command in cmd: tracert google.com or any outside address.
Here are my 4th and 5th hops 4 10 ms 20 ms 8 ms yorkmills1.cable.teksavvy.com [69.165.168.14] 5 37 ms 20 ms 12 ms yorkmills6.cable.teksavvy.com [24.52.255.137] TekSavvy nicely labels their POI's but Rogers stopped doing so. I'm testing from a Rogers connection so not sure what POI I -would- be on. |

 | reply to TSI Marc So new subscribers can sign up after March 22? I'm looking to switch back to TSI from Start. |

Curious as to the reason you are looking to switch from Start, if you don't mind? Any particular problems? Just curious as they were on my provider list to check out...
Thanks! |

 | Start doesn't have the same reputation for fighting the big boys that Teksavvy has. That kind of action inspires some measure of loyalty. |

But if you are part of Scarlett POI then May 20. Hard to tell with the tracert you posted earlier since all that you saw was IP's and no names. |

 | reply to TSI Marc I'm kinda surprised York Mills isn't at the top of the list... cauz you know, it's where all of it is aggregated to? |

Either way sounds like by mid June I should be able to get 150/10 service. I know it's available here via Rogers already. |

Sorry, that might have been true in the past but isn't anymore. As can be seen in the Voltage case...TSI didn't challenge the motion. It's still unknown what Start would do in such a case but hopefully they would learn from TSI' mistakes. -- www.613websites.com ● Budget Canadian Web Design and Hosting

| It's funny you think that... Because, I think it worked out perfectly, and I think Teksavvy helped organize the legal resistance provided by CIPPIC. Teksavvy was able to delay the motion several times, until CIPPIC was granted intervenor, which is the right entity to fight the legal battle for all of us. |

According to the timeline... CIPPIC was involved before the lawsuit was even filed. Which means someone from Teksavvy contacted CIPPIC, and this was planned. -- Battle.net Tech Support MVP |

Curious as to the reason you are looking to switch from Start, if you don't mind? Any particular problems? Just curious as they were on my provider list to check out... Thanks! No problem with the company or the service, besides lowering the cap twice in 3 months (although they did grandfather if you wanted), but TSI's plans on ATPIA are more appealing for me now, especially the 25/2/300G cable for $39.95 (Start is 25/2/150G). I switched from TSI DSL to Start Cable when TSI had issues with POI congestion, and what I figured would be a slow transition to ATPIA. Once they're on ATPIA I think it will be solid, so if that's March 22, then I will be coming back. |

CWolfCWPremium join:2003-07-12 L5B 0E1 | reply to TSI Marc So if our billing cycle falls right before a date that our POI is being changed to ATPIA, does that mean we would need to wait an additional month (next billing date) before we are able to have our speeds upgraded since changing speed packages is only charged on next invoice? Or do the speed changes take effect when it's processed and only the charge date is delayed? |

| reply to TSI Marc I'm on Wolfedale so nearer the end of the rollout which sucks only because I am tremendously in need of the upload bandwidth increase. With all the iOS devices in the house, they easily saturate the upload pipe whenever they want.
All that being said, July-ish is actually sooner than I thought it would happen. So all's good. Keep on keeping on, TSI! -- -Tim |

Teksavvy was able to delay the motion several times, until CIPPIC was granted intervenor, which is the right entity to fight the legal battle for all of us. Doesn't matter. CIPPIC could have gotten involved without TSI choosing to NOT challenge the motion. Even though I wasn't affected, TSI saying "maybe" to handing over subscriber information didn't sit right with me and other security consciences subscribers. I'm not saying it's resulted in a horrible outcome because that is yet to be seen but their strategy could and should have been different as was pointed out in that 30 page Voltage thread.

However, TSI's deal for Cogeco-Land cable is exactly the same as START's, last time I checked since last weekend, at 20/2/150 for $39.95 net monthly plus tax, modem not included.
IIRC, the FREE OFF-PEAK download period is also the same, at 2AM-8AM.
